New Navi Mumbai-Chipi air route to launch before Independence Day

A new air route between Navi Mumbai and Chipi is set to launch before Independence Day. The service aims to strengthen connectivity between Sindhudurg and major Indian cities. Officials recently met to speed up the process and discuss additional flight needs during the busy Ganeshotsav festival. Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane held talks with Fly91’s CEO Manoj Chacko to finalise the Navi Mumbai-Chipi route. The discussions focused on starting operations ahead of the Navi Mumbai International Airport’s opening. Both sides agreed on the importance of improving regional air links.

The minister also pushed for extra flights during Ganeshotsav to handle the expected rise in travellers. The state government has pledged full support to ensure the route begins as soon as possible.

Enhanced air access is predicted to bring more tourists, traders, and investors to the Konkan region. Local businesses could see new growth opportunities as travel becomes easier. The Navi Mumbai-Chipi service is now on track for an early launch. Better connectivity is expected to support economic development in Sindhudurg and surrounding areas. The state will continue working with airlines to expand flight options for residents and visitors.
