Etihad Airways launches record summer flights with 14 new routes and free insurance
Etihad Airways has unveiled its largest summer programme to date. The airline is now operating over 300 daily flights and serving a record number of destinations. A new medical travel insurance scheme for visitors to Abu Dhabi has also been introduced. The airline has expanded its network with 14 new and returning routes this summer. Between 11 and 14 June, it launched flights to Kraków, Palma de Mallorca, Damascus, and Zanzibar. Five seasonal routes—Mykonos, Málaga, Santorini, Nice, and Al Alamein—have also been reinstated.
Capacity has grown by 10% compared to last year, supported by the addition of 23 new aircraft. Passenger demand remains high, with load factors nearing 90%. Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves confirmed the airline is now flying more routes and more frequently than ever before.
In partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, Etihad is offering free medical travel insurance. The scheme covers international visitors flying to Abu Dhabi on Etihad-operated flights from July to December 2026. Eligible travellers, including those on stopover programmes, receive up to 15 days of medical cover. The expanded summer schedule and new insurance offering aim to attract more visitors to Abu Dhabi. The airline’s fleet growth and high passenger numbers reflect its rapid expansion. The initiatives are set to run until the end of 2026.
