"A data lake of nuance for AI agents to swim in": AWS Context gets shipshape on reasoning

AWS Context boosts AI reasoning with dynamic knowledge graphs

AWS has introduced AWS Context, a new service designed to enhance AI reasoning by mapping relationships in a company’s data into a knowledge graph. The tool aims to provide AI agents with a shared, governed context layer to improve decision-making and search capabilities. The service builds on the same knowledge graph technology used in Amazon Q, the company’s AI work assistant. It automatically creates a network of connected data, allowing agents to reason more effectively with the right context rather than just large volumes of information.

AWS Context ensures every query is identity-aware, so agents can only access data their identity is permitted to use. This maintains security while providing a 'data lake of nuance and information' for smarter interactions. The system also learns from usage patterns, becoming more intelligent with each interaction.

In addition, AWS announced a preview of new features for AWS Glue Data Catalog. These include business context and semantic search functions, as well as skill assets that provide extra instructions for AI agents. With AWS Context, agents always have the latest context available without requiring developer intervention. The new service strengthens AI reasoning by providing structured, secure, and up-to-date context. It eliminates the need for manual updates while improving the accuracy and relevance of AI-driven decisions. AWS Context is currently available in preview for select users.
