Arkagala Power Plant completes 2025–2026 heating season with major upgrades underway

Arkagala Power Plant has finished the 2025-2026 heating season. Maintenance for the next season began in April, focusing on key equipment and infrastructure. The work aims to ensure reliable energy supply for Myaundzha and surrounding areas. Major overhauls were completed in June. These included servicing turbine generators and boiler unit No. 3. The plant has since transitioned to summer operations, shutting down heating equipment for Myaundzha settlement while keeping two electric boilers running to maintain hot water supply.

Preparations for the 2026-2027 heating season are already underway. Scheduled tasks include repairs on the smokestack with anti-corrosion coatings and hydraulic pressure tests on main pipelines to detect weaknesses. The Arkagala Power Plant–Berelekh transmission line will also undergo repairs in the next phase.

Additional efforts involve replacing utility poles along 6 kV overhead lines. This is part of a broader plan to improve power supply reliability for Myaundzha residents. The plant’s comprehensive maintenance programme supports the stability of its energy system. Key upgrades and repairs will help ensure uninterrupted service during the upcoming heating season. Myaundzha’s power and heating infrastructure will benefit from these improvements.
