Furlenco replaces 150 ICE vehicles with EVs in major sustainability push
Furlenco is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) fleet to replace nearly 150 older, internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The company has partnered with Green Drive Mobility to support this transition across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad. The move aligns with Furlenco’s long-standing commitment to sustainability in logistics. Furlenco began prioritising sustainability in 2023, a time when EVs were still seen as an unreliable option for logistics. The company is now gradually electrifying its fleet, with plans to replace around 1,000 ICE vehicles with EVs in phases.
Green Drive Mobility is providing end-to-end EV operations to help Furlenco scale its transition. The partnership started in Bengaluru before expanding to Delhi and Hyderabad. Ala Harikrishna, founder of Green Drive Mobility, noted that the focus has shifted from testing EVs to scaling them quickly and efficiently.
The collaboration highlights a broader trend in India’s logistics sector, where EV adoption is moving beyond pilot projects into mainstream use. Furlenco’s goal is to build a logistics network that is efficient, scalable, and sustainable. The partnership between Furlenco and Green Drive Mobility is accelerating the shift to EVs in logistics. Nearly 150 legacy vehicles will be replaced initially, with a long-term target of 1,000. This transition marks a significant step toward mainstream EV adoption in India’s logistics industry.
