e& UAE to launch world's first U6GHz 256TRX Giga-MIMO mobile network by 2026
e& UAE has secured a contract to build the world’s first commercial mobile network using Upper 6GHz (U6GHz) 256TRX Giga-MIMO technology. The move marks a significant advancement in the company’s network development. Marwan Bin Shakar, the Chief Technology Officer of e& UAE, called it a major step forward. The new network will operate in the U6GHz spectrum range of 6425-6775 MHz, offering a bandwidth of 350 MHz. It will use 256TRX Giga-MIMO technology to boost antenna performance and expand network capacity. This setup aims to deliver fibre-like speeds wirelessly, with peak downlink speeds of up to 10 Gbps and uplink speeds of 1 Gbps.
The deployment aligns with the UAE’s national 6G roadmap, led by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). It also supports e& UAE’s long-term goals under the IMT-2030 framework and the transition towards 6G. The network is designed to enable next-generation services, including AI-native networks and immersive digital experiences.
A commercial launch is planned for the second half of 2026. The network will enhance mobile connectivity in the UAE by providing ultra-high speeds and advanced capabilities. It reinforces e& UAE’s commitment to developing cutting-edge mobile infrastructure. The project also contributes to the country’s broader 6G strategy.
