Yogi Adityanath orders ₹2,791 crore Agra infrastructure push with strict road rules

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently held a detailed review meeting in the Agra Division. He assessed development projects, law and order, and the Public Works Department’s action plan for the region. During the meeting, officials presented 495 proposed development works for Agra district. These include road construction, road strengthening, bridge building, and a new helipad, with a total estimated cost of ₹2,791 crore. Public representatives also raised demands for infrastructure improvements, such as the Dayalbagh-Khandauli Bypass, a new bridge over the Yamuna, and solutions for waterlogging on Gwalior Road.

The Chief Minister took a firm stance on road maintenance. He directed officials to ban heavy vehicles on rural roads and recover compensation from owners causing damage. He also criticised the poor restoration of roads after excavation and issued strict orders on construction quality.

Concern over illegal mining was another key issue. Adityanath instructed the administration to increase vigilance along state borders to curb activities originating from neighbouring states. He also addressed legal obstacles delaying the expansion of Agra Airport, ensuring projects remain on track. The meeting saw attendance from ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials. All proposed development works were ordered to be included in the plan. The Chief Minister’s directives aim to improve infrastructure, enforce road safety, and prevent project delays.
