Gardeners of the Namtsyrsky Tract: Heavy Trucks Are Ruining the Road

Heavy trucks destroy dacha community's road, leaving residents stranded

Residents of the Namtsyrsky Tract dacha community have raised concerns over the worsening state of their local road. The damage is linked to heavy trucks transporting sand from a nearby quarry, making travel unsafe and disrupting daily life. The road has developed deep fissures, particularly on the uphill section, due to constant use by 40-ton Shacman trucks. Passenger cars now scrape their undercarriages while attempting to pass, and buses have halted services entirely. Heavy vehicles have also become stuck, causing traffic blockages.

Local dacha owner Nadezhda Gogoleva insists the mining company should repair the road, as its operations are responsible for the damage. The city administration has responded with a proposal to send repair crews once the road dries out. Additionally, there are discussions to introduce weight checks and potentially restrict heavy vehicle access to prevent further harm.

Yakutia’s Ministry of Industry has been called upon to engage with the private quarry operator. Residents urge the company to treat road maintenance as part of its corporate social responsibility. The road remains dangerous for now, with deep cracks and uneven surfaces posing risks to drivers. Repair efforts depend on weather conditions, while long-term solutions may involve stricter regulations for heavy transport. Residents continue to push for regular upkeep to avoid future deterioration.
