An 11-year-old boy was kidnapped in the settlement of Zavodskoy on 24 June 2026. The child was forced into a car and taken to a shed, where he later managed to free himself and escape. Investigators have now opened a criminal case against three local residents. The attack happened near a house on Lenin Street in Artyom. The suspects allegedly used violence to overpower the boy, bind him with duct tape, and drive him to an outbuilding. Two of the accused are minors.
All three have been detained under Article 91 of Russia’s Code of Criminal Procedure. The case falls under parts 'a', 'g', and 'd' of Article 126(2) of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers kidnapping committed by a group of persons. Authorities are currently considering whether to place the suspects in pretrial detention. The boy escaped without further harm after freeing himself from the shed. The investigation continues as the legal process moves forward. The suspects remain in custody pending further decisions.
