10,000 LPG Connection Applications Pending In Bhopal

Bhopal's LPG crisis deepens as US-Iran conflict halts new connections

The supply of LPG in Bhopal has been disrupted by the US-Iran conflict. This has led to a suspension of new domestic connections and a sharp rise in fuel prices. Food costs in the region have also climbed by up to 20% as a result. Oil companies stopped accepting new LPG connection applications in March. Since then, around 8,000 to 10,000 consumers in Bhopal have been waiting for approval. The backlog has grown over the past four months due to the ongoing supply issues.

The conflict between the US and Iran has directly affected LPG availability in the city. Prices for both domestic and commercial cylinders have surged across Madhya Pradesh. In response, oil firms closed their online portals for fresh applications.

Allocation of new connections will only resume once the portals reopen. Until then, the pending requests remain unprocessed. The suspension of new LPG connections has left thousands of households in limbo. Higher fuel costs have already pushed up food prices in the area. Resumption of allocations depends on the reopening of the online application system.
