Kazakhstan reclaims billions in unused and misused state land

Authorities have reclaimed significant tracts of unused and misused land across Kazakhstan. The action follows inspections and legal steps to restore state control over valuable agricultural and forestry areas. In Alakol District, 1,300 hectares of agricultural land had sat idle for years. Valued at over 237 million tenge, the land was misused before prosecutorial inspections led to its return to the state.

Similar efforts took place in other regions. In Akmola, forestry land worth 1.8 billion tenge was restored to state ownership. Jetisu Region also saw the recovery of 230 million tenge worth of unused land. The state has now regained control of these properties. The reclaimed land includes agricultural, forestry, and unused plots with a combined value in the billions of tenge. Officials aim to ensure proper use of these assets moving forward.
