Reservists complete rigorous 10-day military training in Southern Command
A ten-day training programme for reservists in the Southern Regional Command’s Territorial Defense Brigade has ended. The session involved 120 participants who underwent a wide-ranging course in military fundamentals and combat techniques. The programme covered 18 disciplines, including securing key facilities, manning checkpoints, and repelling simulated enemy attacks. Firearms training played a central role, with reservists completing practice and qualification shoots.
The exercises concluded with tactical drills at the Orda training ground. Reservists also practised safeguarding critical infrastructure and coordinating defensive operations against mock assaults.
Lieutenant Colonel Talgat Mazhimbekov, the brigade’s commander, stressed the reservists’ responsibility to defend the homeland. Amantai Akimkulov, an aide to the governor, commended the brigade’s command for their professional training approach. Participants retained their civilian jobs while receiving financial compensation, meals, and uniforms during the programme. The training has equipped reservists with essential skills for both combat and non-combat roles. Their preparedness now supports Territorial Defense, a vital component of national resilience. The programme’s completion marks a step in strengthening regional security capabilities.
