Yakutia Railways reports record growth in 2025 with expanded routes and profits
Yakutia Railways has reported strong financial and operational results for 2025. The company transported more passengers and cargo than planned, while also expanding its infrastructure and services. Total revenue reached 13.4 billion rubles, with net profit at 799 million rubles. The railway carried 464,900 passengers in 2025, exceeding its target by 6.3%. Passenger turnover hit 476.5 million passenger-kilometres, surpassing the planned figure by 14.3%. Performance improved further after the launch of passenger services to Nizhny Bestyakh station.
In freight, the company moved 7.6 million tons of cargo, achieving a turnover of 2.153 billion ton-kilometres. Costs for summer train transfers across the Lena River dropped to 800 rubles after the Namyv waiting point opened, shortening the crossing distance. Additional passenger screening checkpoints were also introduced for river transport boarding.
A major long-term project involves restoring the Skovorodino–Reinovo line as part of the first phase of the Dzhalinda–Mohe international transport corridor. The company expects to open a mixed border crossing in Dzhalinda early next year, creating a direct export route for Yakutia coal to China. Yakutia Railways credits its growth to expanded routes and high regional demand for rail transport. The company’s financial success and operational improvements reflect its increasing role in connecting the region. New infrastructure projects will further boost its capacity and international reach.
