Hopscotch Air Expands Fleet and Hangars to Meet Hamptons Travel Boom
-Hopscotch Air, Inc. is expanding its operations to meet rising demand. The FAA-certificated regional air mobility company has announced plans to add new aircraft and facilities this autumn. The company will introduce at least one more Cirrus Aircraft to its fleet. This decision comes after a sharp increase in customer traffic to and from the Hamptons over the summer. CEO Andrew Schmertz confirmed the surge affected Westhampton, East Hampton, and Montauk Airports.
To support the growth, Hopscotch Air will open new hangar space at Gabreski-Westhampton Beach Airport. The facility is provided by Northside Hangers, LLC. The company already operates from four regional airports, including Republic-Farmingdale in New York and Lawrence Municipal in Massachusetts. The expansion aims to handle the rising number of passengers travelling to the Hamptons. Additional aircraft and hangar space will help the company manage the increased traffic. These changes are set to take effect in the coming months.
