RMV not raising ticket prices for the New Year

RMV overhauls fare system with simpler pricing by summer 2027

RMV has announced changes to its fare system, with a new structure set for summer 2027. The update aims to simplify the current complex system of over 100 ticket types. Popular options like the Hesse Student Ticket and RMV KombiTicket will remain available. From 1 January 2023, RMV will freeze ticket prices. Single and day tickets will keep their current rates. The RMV Savings Pass will also continue to offer discounted purchases.

The upcoming fare structure will mirror the Germany Ticket model. It will reduce the number of fare zones and seasonal passes. Despite past annual increases, including a 4.75% rise, no further price hikes are planned for now. The new system will replace the existing complex pricing. Passengers will see a streamlined range of options. The changes take effect in summer 2027, with no immediate price rises.
