Deutsche Bahn's long-distance delays spiral as punctuality drops below 50%

Deutsche Bahn’s long-distance services have faced growing delays in recent months. The punctuality rate dropped sharply by June, with more than half of trains running late. In April, 64.4% of long-distance trains met the internal punctuality target of 61.9%. This figure then fell to 61.1% by May.

The decline continued into June, when punctuality fell below 50%. As a result, over half of all long-distance services arrived late that month. The trend shows a steady worsening of delays across the period. The company’s internal target was met only in April. By June, the situation had deteriorated significantly.
