Primorskaya GRES Undergoes Full-Scale Modernization for Energy Security
Primorskaya GRES is undergoing a major modernisation to improve its reliability and energy security. The upgrade will affect all nine of its power units, with significant work already completed on key components. The reconstruction of Unit 7 has now entered its active phase. A new low-pressure rotor has arrived at the site, and nearly 1,800 tons of metal will be replaced during the process. A new automated process control system will also be installed for this unit.
Elsewhere at the station, foundations and load-bearing structures for new induced-draft fans have been erected. The turbine hall has received the foundation for a new generator. Progress on the flue gas filtration system is well underway, while the fuel infrastructure is being rebuilt at the same time. The modernisation covers every power unit at Primorskaya GRES. These upgrades are designed to strengthen the station’s performance and ensure more stable energy supply. Work continues across multiple systems and structures.
