Bhopal Metro halts services ahead of critical safety inspection
Bhopal Metro suspended its train services on Wednesday to prepare for an upcoming safety inspection. The move comes as the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) team arrived in the city to assess the signalling system. Currently, only one train is running in manual mode. The CMRS team, led by Neelbhrasen Gupta, will carry out a full inspection of the signalling system on Thursday. Before the assessment, metro officials provided a detailed briefing on the system’s operations and the preparations made for the review.
Once the CMRS team grants clearance, expected in the first week of next month, Bhopal Metro will resume multiple train operations on its line. The inspection marks a key step before expanding services. After approval, more trains will run on the Bhopal Metro network. Until then, operations remain limited to a single manual train.
