Magadan Region launches AI-driven health center to transform maternal care
Magadan Region is set to open a new state-of-the-art Maternal and Child Health Center. The facility is part of a broader push to boost reproductive health services across the area. Officials see potential for the region to become a key hub for reproductive health in the wider macro-region. Over the past year, local partners have introduced AI tools to assist doctors in Magadan Region. The software can pull up a patient’s three-year medical history within seconds and works with operating systems such as Linux. Tatyana Savchenko, Deputy Chair of the Magadan Region Government, highlighted how AI can transform healthcare in remote areas.
SOGAZ-Med has also developed AI-powered modules for mobile medical teams. These innovations support an ambitious regional strategy to drive demographic growth. Preventive check-ups are now prioritising quality and early detection of serious conditions over sheer volume.
By the end of summer, SOGAZ-Med will release new clinical guidelines for general practitioners. The guidelines will outline ‘minor symptoms’ that should raise oncological concerns and prompt referrals for advanced testing. The new Maternal and Child Health Center will soon begin operations. AI tools and updated clinical guidelines aim to improve early diagnosis and patient care. These developments are expected to strengthen healthcare access and outcomes in Magadan Region.
