Lufthansa Technik Expands with New Clark Airport Maintenance Hub by 2028

Lufthansa Technik Philippines will build a new base maintenance facility at Clark International Airport. The project marks a significant expansion of the company’s operations in the Asia Pacific region. The facility will be developed on a 157,000-square-meter site at CRK. The new facility is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and MacroAsia Corporation. It will complement the company’s existing operations in Manila. Once operational, it will support up to nine wide-body aircraft bays and begin work in 2028.

The site will add maintenance capabilities for the Boeing 787, broadening the current focus on Airbus A330, A340, A350, A380, and Boeing 777 aircraft. This expansion strengthens Lufthansa Technik’s MRO services across the region.

Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation welcomed the announcement. Its president, Noel Manankil, highlighted the move as proof of global aviation leaders’ trust in Clark International Airport and Central Luzon. He also noted that such developments confirm Clark’s readiness to host world-class aviation operations. The new facility will increase Lufthansa Technik’s maintenance capacity in Asia Pacific. It will also introduce Boeing 787 support to its service portfolio. Operations are set to start in 2028.
