Astana transforms urban spaces with a new landscaped park and riverfront upgrades
Astana is upgrading 173 public and courtyard spaces in 2023. A major part of the plan is a new landscaped park between Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Prospect and Kanysh Satpayev Street. The project aims to create more areas for residents to relax, exercise, and socialise. The park will include pedestrian zones, greenery, and modern lighting. A 'Dragon' playground will be added for children. The development also features a pedestrian bridge, safe pathways, and improved infrastructure.
A 'green corridor' with 915 trees will run through the area. A bike lane, widened sidewalks, and a modern promenade are part of the design. An extra exit onto Ryskulbek Kosharbayev Prospect is being built to ease traffic.
Nearby, a 2.5-kilometre stretch along the Yesil and Yesenbay rivers will become a modern public space. Work is also underway on Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Prospect and Ryskulbek Kosharbayev Prospect as part of the citywide upgrades. The new park and riverfront space will offer more green areas and better access for pedestrians. The upgrades will provide residents with improved places for leisure and social activities. The changes are set to enhance the city’s public spaces significantly.
