Vladivostok's promenades get a sleek upgrade ahead of summer's end

Two major promenades in Vladivostok are getting a modern upgrade. Work on Kirov Street and Ivanovskaya Street is progressing ahead of schedule, with both set to open by the end of summer. The projects form part of a national initiative to improve urban spaces. On Kirov Street, the central section has already been graded, with soil compaction and drainage now complete. Pedestrian and jogging paths are taking shape, and workers will soon lay paving stones and rubberised flooring. The finished promenade will include a continuous running track, outdoor gym areas, ping-pong tables and playgrounds for children.

Ivanovskaya Street’s transformation began after residents voted in 2025 to develop the area. A vacant lot there is becoming a recreational space with a new technologically advanced sidewalk. The design keeps parking access convenient while improving the walking experience. A bus shelter and pedestrian crossing will also be added by the end of the year. Both projects are part of the federal 'Comfortable Urban Environment' programme. They are expected to open in the second half of August, ahead of the original timeline. The upgrades will provide residents with new public spaces for leisure and exercise.
