Khabarovsk overhauls two historic boulevards with modern upgrades
Khabarovsk has begun major reconstruction work on two key boulevards. Crews are removing old cobblestones and trees to improve pedestrian paths and infrastructure. The projects aim to modernise the area while preserving its accessibility. Work has started on Amursky Boulevard, where old cobblestones are being dismantled from the railway station to Dikopoltsev Street. Plans include relocating the tram stop near the station and repairing the tracks. Pedestrian access is currently closed, but tram services continue as usual.
On Ussuriysky Boulevard, crews are replacing cobblestones and cutting down hazardous trees between Pushkin and Sheronov Streets. New cobblestones and paved bike lanes will be installed by autumn. Authorities have promised to keep main pedestrian routes open during the work.
Both projects will introduce new benches, trash bins, streetlights, and surveillance cameras. The Ussuriysky Boulevard upgrade is set for completion by 30 September 2026. Officials have also pledged to plant new saplings to maintain the area’s greenery. The reconstruction will bring improved pathways, safer infrastructure, and better amenities for residents. Pedestrians will face temporary closures, but tram routes remain unaffected. The changes are expected to enhance the city’s urban landscape by the project’s end date.
