A new book on cybersecurity has been launched in Maharashtra, drawing attention to its importance in modern society. The event featured prominent speakers and a panel discussion on leadership and resilience in the digital age. Dr. Durga Prasad Dube released Demystifying Cybersecurity, aiming to simplify complex processes and encourage a cybersecurity mindset. Brijesh Singh, principal secretary of the Maharashtra government, praised the book for its clear explanations and emphasised that security begins with people’s awareness, not just technology or rules.

Ashishkumar Chauhan, CEO of NSE, noted India’s 100 crore internet connections, stressing the urgency of cybersecurity for data protection and personal safety. Chauhan compared mobile phones in cybersecurity to the military and police in physical security. Singh also urged attendees to write blogs as a way to contribute to the digital era.

The launch was followed by a panel discussion titled Cybersecurity Beyond Technology: Leadership, Resilience and Trust in the AI Era. Attendees included Lt. Gen. Rajesh Pant (Retd.) and Siddharth Vishwanath. The event highlighted the need for a broader understanding of cybersecurity in India. The book and discussions aimed to make the subject accessible and reinforce its role in protecting data and freedom of expression.
