Extreme heat halts tram services on Line 5 in Saale district
Tram services on Line 5 in the Saale district have been disrupted due to track damage. The extreme heat has made immediate repairs impossible, forcing a full suspension of services between Bad Dürrenberg and Leuna/Pfalzplatz. The damage occurred because of the recent high temperatures. As a result, trams cannot run in either direction on the affected route. HAVAG has arranged a replacement bus service for passengers.
The movemix_shuttle in Paulusviertel will also be suspended all day on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Passengers are advised to use the designated replacement stops. Track maintenance crews are currently working to restore at least one track for service. The replacement bus service will operate on Sunday, June 28, 2026, to minimise disruption. Normal tram services will resume only after the necessary repairs are completed. Passengers should plan their journeys accordingly.
