Due to work on switches: Tram lines are being rerouted

Major light rail disruptions in Braunschweig from July to August 2023

BSVG will renew the track switches at the 'Schloss' light rail stop from 2 July to 12 August 2023. The 'Schloss' stop itself will be closed for the entire duration of the work. No replacement bus services will be available during this time. During the construction, light rail line 3 will use a temporary stop at Waisenhausdamm. It will then follow a diverted route via 'John-F.-Kennedy-Platz', 'Campestraße', and 'Hauptbahnhof/Viewegs Garten' before reaching 'Rathaus'.

Lines 1 and 2 will operate between 'Hauptbahnhof' and 'Rathaus' via Georg-Eckert-Straße. However, they will not stop at 'Campestraße' or 'John-F.-Kennedy-Platz' during the work.

Light rail line 5 will also use the temporary stop at Waisenhausdamm. It will then continue via 'John-F.-Kennedy-Platz' and 'Campestraße' to 'Hauptbahnhof'.

To help passengers maintain connections, bus lines 445 and 465 will have adjusted schedules at the 'Donauknoten' hub. Updated timetables and diversion details are available in the electronic journey planner. The track renewal will affect multiple light rail lines and stops. Passengers are advised to check the electronic journey planner for the latest timetables and route changes. No alternative bus services will be provided during the construction period.
