Lola Cars revives the legendary T70S with 2026's ultra-exclusive track and road models

Lola Cars is bringing back the iconic T70S in 2026, reviving a classic 1960s race car with modern engineering. The new model will come in two versions: a track-focused T70S and a road-legal T70S GT. Only 16 units will be built, with half allocated to each variant. The original T70 was a dominant force in 1960s motorsport. Now, Lola is reintroducing it with cutting-edge technology while keeping its racing spirit alive. Both versions will feature advanced materials and high-performance engines.

The track-only T70S packs a 5.0-litre Chevy V8, delivering 523 horsepower. It sprints from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 203 mph. Its bodywork uses Lola's patent-pending Natural Composite System (LNCS), which is tougher and more impact-resistant than traditional composites. The road-legal T70S GT uses a 6.2-litre Chevy V8 with 493 horsepower. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and tops out at 200 mph. Both models will run on magnesium alloy wheels produced via solar-powered electrolysis of seawater, cutting CO₂ emissions by 54%. At launch, the T70S GT will be road-legal in the UK. However, there is currently no pathway for US road approval.

Production of the T70S will be limited to just 16 cars, split between track and road versions. The model combines classic racing heritage with modern sustainability efforts. Lola's revival of the T70S marks a rare blend of performance, innovation, and exclusivity.
