Burabay National Park faces traffic chaos as visitor numbers surge
Burabay National Park has seen a sharp rise in visitors, leading to increased traffic at its checkpoints. The park remains a top destination, but the surge has caused delays at the second exit. Authorities are now encouraging drivers to use alternative routes. The first checkpoint connects directly to the Astana–Kokshetau highway. This route suits those travelling to the capital or heading north.
The second checkpoint has faced the heaviest congestion. More cars are passing through, creating long queues at peak times. The rise in traffic stems from Burabay’s growing popularity, not from any system issues.
The third checkpoint runs through the Shchuchinsk Resort area. It helps spread out the flow of vehicles within the park’s recreational zone. The fourth checkpoint is reachable via the Baldauren Children’s Center, offering another way to exit without using the main gate. Park officials are advising visitors to use these alternative exits. Doing so reduces travel time and eases pressure on the park’s roads. The aim is to keep traffic moving smoothly while protecting the park’s ecological balance.
