Aegean Airlines scraps A321XLR order, delaying India expansion until 2027

Aegean Airlines has cancelled its order for two A321XLR aircraft, delaying its expansion into India. The decision follows repeated setbacks in the delivery schedule, pushing back the airline's planned entry into the Indian market.

The airline originally intended to launch flights to India this spring. However, issues with certifying the seats on the new aircraft caused major delays. These problems forced Aegean to abandon the order entirely.

With the cancellation, the carrier now has no additional aircraft on order beyond March 2026. As a result, the planned routes to India will not begin until 2027 at the earliest.

The cancellation leaves Aegean Airlines without new planes for expansion. The Indian market launch, once set for this year, will now wait until 2027. The airline's growth plans have been put on hold due to the unresolved certification issues.
