Yakutsk launches free New Year's Eve bus to boost holiday travel safety

Yakutsk will introduce a free temporary bus route on New Year’s Eve to support public transport during celebrations. Mayor Yevgeny Grigoryev announced the initiative on December 25, 2025, aiming to improve both service reliability and road safety for residents and visitors alike. The new route, numbered 100N, will run from 10:00 PM on December 31, 2025, until 6:00 AM on January 1, 2026. It will connect key areas, starting at the 'Medtsentr' stop and ending at the 'Airport' stop.

The service is designed to cover the city’s central streets and suburban districts. Officials issued the order to prevent disruptions in transport and reduce risks on the roads during the festive period. The free bus route will operate continuously throughout the night. Authorities expect it to ease travel for those attending New Year events while maintaining safety. The measure reflects Yakutsk’s effort to provide reliable transport during peak holiday hours.
