Yakutsk adds ten new heated bus shelters in 2025 expansion
Yakutsk has expanded its network of heated bus shelters this year. Ten new pavilions were installed in 2025, bringing the city’s total to 51. Officials have also clarified recent misinformation about future plans.
The city’s transport department confirmed that ten modern heated and lit bus stops were added in 2025. These follow an annual target of installing ten such shelters each year. The latest additions bring the overall count to 51 across Yakutsk.
Recent reports suggested eight more heated stops would arrive in 2026. However, authorities dismissed this as incorrect. No additional shelters beyond the usual ten are planned for next year. Each new pavilion includes heating and lighting to improve passenger comfort. The programme aims to gradually replace older stops with these upgraded models.
The 2025 installations keep the city on track with its yearly target. With 51 heated shelters now in place, residents benefit from better waiting conditions. The next phase will continue as scheduled in 2026.
