Demand for In-City Vehicle Relocation Services Nearly Doubles This Winter

Winter Driving Woes Boost Russia's Professional Car Transport Demand by 90%

Demand for professional car relocation services within cities has surged by nearly 90% compared to last winter, according to data from Avito Services.

Experts attribute the spike in interest to harsh winter driving conditions. During snowstorms and icy roads, car owners increasingly opt to entrust their vehicles to professional drivers, who navigate heavy traffic more effectively and respond faster to unexpected hazards.

Among intercity routes, the most significant increase in demand for vehicle relocation comes from Rostov-on-Don (+65%). Orders have also risen from Nizhny Novgorod (+30%), Vladivostok (+18%), and St. Petersburg (+10%).

At the same time, demand for car transport via specialized auto carriers is also climbing. Data from Avito Special Equipment shows a 37% year-on-year increase in interest in renting auto carriers this winter. Demand for in-city car transport services has jumped by 69%, while long-distance vehicle shipping has grown by 37%.

Additionally, Avito reports strong interest in purchasing used auto carriers, with the average price hovering around 3.7 million rubles. The most popular models include carriers based on the Mercedes-Benz Actros, Volvo FM9, MAZ 6430V9, KAMAZ 4326, and Scania P-series.
