Wattif EV acquires Mer's Norwegian portfolio to accelerate European expansion
Wattif EV has expanded its operations by acquiring Mer’s Norwegian business customer portfolio. The move follows a year of strong growth, with the company reporting an 85% increase in its charging business during 2026. Executives describe the deal as a key part of their strategy to scale up across Europe. The acquisition strengthens Wattif’s position in the business customer market. It also enables faster expansion in Norway, where the company already operates a significant network. Celine Troye Hopsdal, Managing Director of Wattif Nordics, called the takeover a logical step in their growth plans.
Wattif now manages over 60,000 charging points across its markets. The company began 2026 with positive EBITDA in the Nordic region, reflecting its financial health. Andreas Strand, CEO of Wattif EV, credited this success to a focus on scale, efficiency, and disciplined investment.
Demand for charging infrastructure continues to rise, particularly in Germany. Lukas Littmann, Managing Director of Wattif Europe GmbH, noted the growing need for reliable solutions. The company remains well-placed to drive further profitable growth in the sector. The acquisition of Mer’s Norwegian portfolio expands Wattif’s reach in a key market. With a larger network and stronger business segment, the company aims to meet increasing demand for EV charging. Analysts expect continued growth as Wattif builds on its operational and financial momentum.
