A transport company in Vladivostok has been fined 500,000 rubles for involvement in a bribery scheme. The case centred on a payment made to speed up the processing of shipments through Russian Post. Both the company representative and the postal official had already faced criminal convictions for their roles.
The incident began when a representative of the transport firm handed 110,000 rubles to the head of a Vladivostok postal branch. The money was intended to secure faster handling of the company’s deliveries. Authorities later uncovered the transaction and launched an investigation.
Administrative proceedings were opened against the company under Part 1 of Article 19.28 of Russia’s Administrative Offenses Code. The Primorsky Transport Prosecutor’s Office led the case, resulting in a court-imposed penalty. The legal entity was ordered to pay a fine five times the original bribe amount. Earlier trials had already found both the bribe-giver and the bribe-taker guilty. Their convictions set the stage for the administrative action against the company itself.
The 500,000-ruble fine marks the end of the administrative process against the transport firm. The case highlights the legal consequences for businesses involved in corrupt practices. Both individuals and the company now face financial penalties for their actions.
