Vladivostok's students now inspect construction sites for urban compliance

A new initiative in Vladivostok is giving future construction professionals real-world experience while helping the city monitor building sites. Launched on 2 May 2023, the Student Control programme involves students checking whether developers follow urban improvement rules. The scheme is a joint effort between local authorities, the Primorye Builders Alliance, and Far Eastern Federal University.

As part of the project, students will visit more than 70 construction sites across Vladivostok. Their task is to inspect key areas such as site fencing, the availability of project documentation, and the presence of wheel-washing stations. They will also assess how the work affects nearby infrastructure.

Any issues found will not go unchecked. If students spot violations, the cases will be passed on to administrative commissions and the Primorye Regional Construction Supervision Inspectorate for further review. The programme serves two main purposes. For the students, it offers practical training in construction oversight. For the city, it provides a wider view of site conditions, helping authorities ensure compliance with local standards.

The Student Control initiative connects education with real-world oversight. By the end of their inspections, participants will have gained direct experience in construction regulation. Meanwhile, Vladivostok’s administration will receive detailed reports on whether developers are meeting urban improvement requirements.
