Vladivostok ramps up child safety checks for summer holidays
A regional working group in Vladivostok has met to strengthen child safety measures during the summer holidays. The initiative forms part of Russia’s broader Comprehensive Child Safety Strategy, which President Vladimir Putin approved earlier this year. The meeting brought together key figures, including Alexander Shcherbakov, Tatiana Zabolotnaya, Olga Lakomskaya, and Artem Volodimirov. Representatives from public movements, government agencies, and the Young Guard of United Russia also attended. Together, they agreed to inspect and monitor high-risk areas daily.
Authorities will focus on socially significant facilities, family recreation zones, and bodies of water. Special attention will go to children’s playgrounds, sports areas, parks, and dangerous swimming spots. To raise awareness, new SMS alerts and warning signs have been introduced, particularly to prevent child drowning incidents. The effort aligns with United Russia’s national program, which aims to make children’s leisure activities safer. Inspections will document violations and push for quick fixes. Shcherbakov emphasised that child safety remains an absolute priority across all monitored locations.
The inspections and monitoring will continue throughout the summer. The goal is to reduce risks, enforce safety standards, and provide parents with greater peace of mind. Authorities have committed to addressing hazards promptly as part of the ongoing strategy.
