Vladivostok overhauls bus services with stricter rules and new routes

Vladivostok's public transport operator VPOPAT No. 1 will increase service on routes 15, 77, and 11 to Russky Island, the city's transport authority announced. Under the new schedule, 11 buses will run on routes 15 and 77 on weekdays, while an additional vehicle will be added to route 11 on weekends to reduce wait times. These changes are part of updated contracts for urban transit services, set to take effect on April 1.

The route for bus No. 11—Primorsky Oceanarium–Revolutionaries' Square–Primorsky Oceanarium—will also be adjusted. The final stop will now be Fort No. 11, and the Primorsky Oceanarium stop will be removed from the route.

Meanwhile, Vladivostok continues to inspect vehicles from carriers selected to serve passengers in 2026–2027. A special city commission is verifying whether the buses meet safety and comfort standards. Under the new contracts, all vehicles must be no older than 10 years and equipped with GLONASS tracking, contactless payment terminals, and onboard cameras.

So far, VPOPAT No. 1 and DV-TransSeti have performed best in the inspections. Other carriers have been given time to address deficiencies before their vehicles undergo re-evaluation.
