Vladivostok CHP-1 begins major overhaul, disrupting hot water supply for months

Major overhaul work has begun at Vladivostok CHP-1, affecting hot water supply in several districts. The repairs involve replacing key components in one of the plant’s boilers, with additional upgrades planned for the heating network. Residents in parts of the city should prepare for temporary disruptions over the coming months.

Primorskye Teplovye Seti is leading the project, which includes replacing 13.6 tons of network circuit coils in boiler unit No. 3. The necessary coil assemblies for the second and third stages of the BKZ-76-16M boiler have already arrived at the site. All equipment being used is Russian-made.

Hydraulic tests of the heating networks from Vladivostok CHP-1 are currently underway, running from May 18 to 25. These checks will ensure the system’s readiness before further work begins. Starting June 2, hot water supply will face temporary restrictions in the Frunzensky, parts of the Leninsky, and Pervorechensky districts. The disruptions will continue until August 26, affecting specific addresses during this period. In early June, a large-scale replacement of a heating network section will also commence. The upgrade will increase the pipe diameter from 720 mm to 1,020 mm, improving capacity. Andrey Krishchenko, head of the repair preparation and execution department, is supervising the entire operation. For safety and security, prohibitory signs have been installed along Zapadnaya Street. These restrictions will take full effect 20 days after placement to protect the fuel and energy infrastructure.

The repairs will strengthen the reliability of Vladivostok’s heating system. Residents in the affected districts have been notified of the scheduled hot water restrictions. The project is expected to complete by late August, with improved infrastructure for the coming winter season.
