Driver without license flees on foot - Unlicensed driver surrenders after high-speed police chase in Wesermarsch
A 27-year-old unlicensed driver led police on a chase through Wesermarsch before handing himself in. The incident began after officers attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding on Federal Highway 437 in Stadland. Authorities later launched criminal proceedings against the man for evading capture and driving without a valid licence.
The chase started when the driver refused to pull over on the B437, despite police activating flashing blue lights and sirens. Officers pursued the car until it came to a halt, at which point both the driver and his 28-year-old passenger fled on foot.
A police helicopter was called in to assist in tracking the pair. While the driver initially remained at large, the passenger was located shortly afterwards. Questioning revealed details that helped identify the driver, who later turned himself in at a local police station. Investigators confirmed the driver had no valid licence. No further technical support or additional measures were reported during the operation.
The driver now faces criminal charges for failing to stop and driving without a licence. The passenger cooperated with authorities, providing key information that led to the driver's surrender. The case remains under investigation by local police.
