United Russia gears up for 2026 elections with expanded policy platform
United Russia has announced its readiness for the 2026 election campaign, backed by an updated policy platform and expanded candidate support. The party, which currently holds 324 seats in the State Duma, has also gathered over 16,000 public proposals for its renewed People's Program.
The party's preparations include a revised People's Program, split into an election platform and a section on ideological principles. According to Vladimir Yakushev, United Russia is fully equipped for the upcoming elections, with 2.653 million members and 938,000 supporters actively involved in youth and public associations.
Public engagement has been strong, with proposals collected through both online and offline channels. Nearly 170,000 party representatives are now conducting direct outreach at the municipal level to gather further input. In the State Duma, United Russia remains the dominant faction, supporting the President's legislative agenda. Over the past two years, it has introduced key bills, including increased maternity capital payments and tax incentives for small businesses. For the 2026 elections, 1,709 applications have been submitted, with 506 specifically targeting the Duma campaign. Additionally, 81 candidates linked to the special military operation have filed their documents and will receive extra support.
The party's updated People's Program and extensive candidate network position it strongly for the 2026 elections. With a significant presence in parliament and ongoing public engagement, United Russia aims to maintain its influence in the coming political cycle.
