Umno wings protest Negeri Sembilan relocation order as insensitive

Three wings of Negeri Sembilan Umno have criticised a recent directive to vacate Balai Undang Luak Sungei Ujong. The instruction, issued on 29 April 2026, required all occupants to leave the premises and official residence. Wanita, Youth, and Puteri divisions called the move insensitive and potentially disruptive to customary processes. The three wings argued that the order to relocate personnel and clear the building was inappropriate. They claimed it could interfere with ongoing traditional procedures linked to the site.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi later addressed the issue. He clarified that statements of no confidence against Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun reflected individual views, not the party’s official stance. Zahid also stressed that Barisan Nasional’s representation in Negeri Sembilan’s State Legislative Assembly follows party decisions. He urged all members to respect the established process for selecting representatives.

The dispute centres on the relocation order and its timing. The three Umno wings maintain their objections, while party leadership reinforces its authority over assembly representation. The situation highlights tensions between local divisions and central directives.
