Two Major Fires Strike Vladivostok in a Single Day
Two separate fires broke out in Vladivostok on the same day, prompting swift responses from emergency services. One blaze engulfed a two-story private house near the Fadeyeva Street interchange, while another tore through an administrative building on Shchitovaya Street. Authorities have launched investigations into both incidents.
The first fire was reported in a two-story administrative building on Shchitovaya Street. The structure housed both a café and a transport company office. When firefighters arrived—seven minutes after the emergency call—the second floor was already fully ablaze, with thick black smoke billowing from the windows. The fire spread across roughly 450 square metres before crews managed to contain it. A total of 35 rescuers and nine specialised vehicles were deployed to tackle the flames.
The Primorsky Territory Prosecutor's Office has since taken charge of the investigation. Officials will examine whether fire safety regulations were followed during the building's operation. They will also oversee the procedural review of the incident to determine its cause. Meanwhile, a second fire erupted in a private two-story house on Shamorov Highway, close to the Fadeyeva Street interchange. Firefighters reached the scene quickly to assess the situation and begin extinguishing the blaze. The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
The administrative building fire required a large-scale emergency response, with multiple crews working to bring it under control. Prosecutors will now check for compliance with safety rules and review the incident's circumstances. Both fires have triggered official probes to establish how they started and whether preventative measures were in place.
