Trane Technologies acquires German dealer to boost Thermo King's European expansion

Trane Technologies has completed the acquisition of Transport-Kälte-Vertrieb (TKV), a long-standing dealer of Thermo King and Frigoblock systems in southern Germany. The deal, finalised on May 4, marks a strategic move to expand Thermo King’s direct operations in Europe.

TKV had operated as one of five independent Thermo King and Frigoblock dealers in Germany for 55 years. Under the new ownership, the company will now be renamed TK Deutschland.

Jorge Estelle Caro has been appointed to lead the newly integrated business, while Herwig Kiesling will continue in a supporting role to drive growth. The acquisition strengthens Thermo King’s control over sales, service, and customer support in the region. Thermo King, part of Trane Technologies, already runs a network of over 500 service locations across 75 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The company specialises in cold chain solutions for road freight transport, an area seeing increased demand due to stricter temperature regulations and sustainability goals. Claudio Zanframundo, President of Thermo King EMEA, highlighted that the deal opens fresh opportunities for investment and growth. The move aligns with Thermo King’s broader strategy to expand its in-house sales and service operations across Europe.

The acquisition of TKV reinforces Thermo King’s direct presence in Germany. With the rebranded TK Deutschland now under its management, the company aims to enhance service delivery and customer support. The deal also positions Thermo King to capitalise on growing demand in temperature-controlled transport solutions.
