Titisee-Neustadt Takes Another Step Toward Sustainable Energy
The town has commissioned a new solar photovoltaic system at its water treatment plant. According to local authorities, the facility has a peak capacity of up to 99 kilowatts and is expected to make energy supply more efficient in the future.
Until now, the elevated water tanks for the town's water supply were primarily filled at night, when electricity prices were lower and grid demand was reduced. The new solar installation will significantly change this approach.
An intelligent control system will now prioritize filling the tanks when the photovoltaic array is generating sufficient power. The goal is to maximize self-consumption of solar energy while cutting energy costs.
The initiative represents a key contribution to sustainable infrastructure in the High Black Forest region and marks progress in optimizing municipal energy supply.
