A truck driver became the victim of a large-scale theft after parking his articulated lorry at a motorway service area. Thieves broke into the trailer while he slept, making off with electronics valued at around €75,000. Authorities are now treating the incident as grand larceny.

The break-in took place overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. The driver had stopped at a service area along the A19 motorway, where he left the lorry unattended while resting. During this time, the thieves forced their way into the trailer and stole cleaning equipment and systems belonging to a company in southern Germany.

The stolen goods alone are estimated at €75,000. Additionally, the trailer suffered roughly €1,000 in damage from the forced entry. Güstrow Criminal Police have launched an investigation into the case.

While no specific trailer thefts were reported on the A19 in the past year, regional police statistics show about 15–20 similar incidents at lorry parks annually. The exact locations of these crimes, however, remain unspecified.

The investigation into the theft continues, with police examining evidence from the scene. The company affected now faces the loss of high-value equipment, while the driver must deal with the damage to his vehicle. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the crime.
