Spreedly Enables AI-Powered Payments Without New Contracts or Infrastructure

Spreedly has launched a new way for merchants to handle payments within AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini. The system lets businesses process transactions through their existing payment setups—no new contracts or infrastructure changes required. The move comes as AI agents now do more than just suggest products; they can complete purchases at checkout too.

The company's open payments platform now includes agentic commerce as a live channel. This allows merchants to manage AI-driven transactions while keeping full control over routing and transaction rules. Spreedly's smart vaulting technology also means customers don't need to re-enter card details, making checkout faster.

Spreedly is not limited to a single AI platform. Instead, it works across different interfaces, using the same orchestration layer that merchants already rely on. This keeps the merchant as the official seller, with all existing payment logic staying in place. The platform is also preparing to support new agentic commerce protocols, such as UCP and ACP, with a planned release later this quarter. Early adopters include Priceline, which is testing AI-driven transaction flows, and Paysafe, which has integrated its payment gateway into Spreedly's system. Other major brands like BMW, CLEAR, and HBO already use Spreedly's technology, though their specific AI commerce plans remain undisclosed.

The launch lets merchants quickly add AI payment capabilities without overhauling their systems. Priceline and Paysafe are among the first to test the new features, while support for additional protocols is expected soon. Spreedly's approach keeps merchants in control while enabling seamless transactions through AI interfaces.
