Solana's explosive week: Stablecoins, trading records, and cross-chain breakthroughs

Solana has seen a surge in activity this week, with major developments across stablecoins, trading, and cross-chain technology. The network’s growing adoption includes new financial tools, institutional partnerships, and record trading volumes in tokenized assets. The week began with SoFi launching SoFiUSD, the first stablecoin issued by a U.S. nationally chartered bank. Built natively on Solana, it marks a key step for regulated digital assets on the network.

Cash App also expanded its services by adding USDC support on Solana, giving millions of retail users direct access to stablecoin transactions. This move brings Solana-based payments into a mainstream consumer app.

In trading, Solana dominated 97% of cumulative tokenized equities spot volume, highlighting strong demand from both institutions and retail investors. The network’s appeal for regulated assets grew further as Streamex and Orca introduced 24/7 onchain liquidity for tokenized securities.

Cross-chain activity surged as well. Mayan bridged over one million external wallets and facilitated $2.5 billion in stablecoin transfers across Solana. Meanwhile, Jupiter Exchange launched the public beta of Offerbook, a fixed-rate credit tool allowing users to borrow against tokens, NFTs, and trading cards.

The Solana Foundation also joined the Open Transaction Layer as a founding partner. This collaboration aims to develop cross-chain standards for the broader blockchain industry. These updates reinforce Solana’s position in both retail and institutional finance. With new stablecoins, trading tools, and cross-chain infrastructure, the network continues to expand its role in digital asset adoption. The coming weeks will likely see further integration of Solana-based solutions in mainstream financial services.
