Sochi's suburban rail network is expanding ahead of the tourist season. From March 29, passengers will see shorter wait times and more frequent services on key routes. The changes aim to improve transport links across the resort region. The upgrades include 15 new daily train pairs, bringing the total from 39 to 54 services. On the Central Sochi–Sirius route, 13 additional pairs have been added, cutting average waits from 38.5 to 26 minutes. The shortest interval between trains is now just six minutes.

Two more pairs have also been introduced on the Sirius–Rosa Khutor line. There, the average wait time now stands at around 1 hour and 21 minutes.

This expansion mirrors earlier efforts during the 2014 Winter Olympics. Back then, 11 extra pairs were added daily between Sochi and Adler's Olympic Park. Measures included peak-hour frequencies of 5–10 minutes, extended platforms, and a real-time express shuttle service. The new schedule launches on March 29, just before the tourist season begins. With faster connections and reduced waiting, the changes are designed to make travel smoother for visitors and locals alike. The total number of daily services has grown by over a third since the previous timetable.
