Snapdragon X2 Elite laptops hit stores earlier than planned after CES 2026 reveal
The latest Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset for notebooks is arriving sooner than expected. Major manufacturers like HP, ASUS, and Lenovo have already confirmed devices featuring the new processor. These were first displayed at CES 2026 in Las Vegas last January.
Qualcomm originally planned to release the Snapdragon X2 in the first half of 2026, likely around April. However, the timeline has moved forward, with OEM systems now set for retail shortly after their CES debut. ASUS, in particular, has gained early access to the high-end Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme model due to its close partnership with Qualcomm.
Leaked pricing details reveal a small gap between two key models. The X2EE 16-inch 48GB variant and the X2E 14-inch 32GB version differ by less than €200. This suggests competitive pricing for different configurations of the new chipset.
The accelerated launch means consumers will soon see laptops powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite in stores. With ASUS leading in exclusive variants and multiple brands on board, the rollout is set to be widespread. Pricing leaks also indicate affordable options across different specifications.
