Sberbank has launched an AI-powered recruitment agent to streamline its hiring process. The system, named GigaRecruiter, conducts preliminary interviews with job applicants and has already handled over 130,000 sessions in early 2026. The bank aims to blend technology with a human-centred approach to modernise talent acquisition. The AI agent takes charge of multiple recruitment tasks. It reviews resumes, creates tailored interview questions, and holds conversations with candidates. After each session, it compiles detailed reports for hiring managers.
Processing times have dropped sharply since its introduction. Where initial screening once took 23 hours, the agent now completes it in just three. This acceleration reduces pressure on recruitment teams while speeding up feedback for applicants.
Further developments are planned for the project. Future updates will refine candidate interaction scripts and enable fully automated interview scheduling. The system will also integrate with the MAX messenger platform, which is designed for users aged 12 and above.
An additional feature in development is an AI assistant for vacancy briefings. This tool will help hiring managers define role requirements more efficiently. Anna Ovchinnikova, Sberbank’s Senior Managing Director for Talent Acquisition, highlights how AI is reshaping recruitment. The agent boosts efficiency, scales operations, and maintains a personalised approach. Its continued expansion is set to further transform how the bank attracts and assesses talent.
